BARK BUSTERS!!

Tank was in boot camp this weekend. We hired a trainer to help us learn how to train our dog. I found this company called bark busters. They train your dog and it comes with a lifetime warranty, they will come back at any time to train if your dog needs additional help throughout the lifetime of the dog. Tank is generally a really good dog and listens to us and does everything we say inside the house, but when we are outside it is a different story he does not listen AT ALL!! Saturday the trainer came over to my moms house to train Tank and Abby ( my sisters dog). We learned a lot of good information, and basically right now Tank owns Kevin and I. He thinks he is the pack leader and king of the house, we learned that he is also very stubborn and will not give that title up easy. Kevin and I have to work really hard with some particular principles everyday 15 min a day to let Tank know that we are in charge and the pack leaders and he can just sit back and relax, and listen to what we say. One of the things we learned is that dogs don't understand us most of the time, they tune into tones of the voice and body language. So if Tank does something wrong we have to growl at him in a deep from the throat growl to correct him, then when he listens or does something good we have to say "good boy" "good boy" in a really high pitch voice. We sound kind of ridiculous, so if you see us taking Tank on a walk or come to our house you will know why Kevin and I are growling. haha wish us luck! We will let you know how it goes.
